Getting The 'Insufficient Storage Available' Error Message On Your Android Device ? Here's How To Fix It

Do you always wonder why you get the Insufficient Storage Available message when you have enough space available? Here is how to fix this problem. You will have to clear Android's app cache to get rid of this error message.

First let us look why this error happens. Sometimes you may moved a large amount of media from the phone memory to the micro SD card to free up the space. But this is not enough. The cache also needs to be removed properly.

It is quite simple to clear the app cache. It just takes a few seconds or minutes. But first you should check how serious the problem is. Does it allow you to install small apps around 2 MB or it does not allow you to install any app?  If you are able to install small apps, then you could automatically clear the app cache in a fraction of seconds. Otherwise you need to clear them manually for each app.

Let us begin by first deleting some unwanted apps. Your phone might contain some apps which you had downloaded but never used. Check for these app in the app tray  since the app tray will list all apps which you use and never use.

Now lets move to the gallery and downloads folder. Also check the Whatsapp files in the file manager app. You could also connect your device to the PC and remove the unwanted files. Sometimes you may store all your photos in the device itself without transferring to your PC or laptop due to fear of losing it.

So try backing up your photos and videos with the Google Photos so that you could access those photos from any device by logging in with your Google account. So by now some space will be freed up in your phone. Go to Google Play store and get the APP CACHE CLEANER- 1 TAP CLEANER.

This app is effective and very easy to use. When you open the app, it scan your device for the stored cache. You can clear the app cache for each app by clicking the bin icon next to each app or by clicking the Clear button at the bottom to clear all the caches together.

Most probably the error will be removed by this step. Try downloading some app to check whether the problem is fixed. If not, proceed further.

Next lets see how to remove the cache without using the above said app. If your phone does not allow the installation of even small apps, you will not able to get the app cache cleaner app, so try this method. Check whether your device provides an option to manually clear all the app cache in one click. If so go for it.Go to Settings > Storage> Cached data > Clear Cached Data > Delete. And its done. Cached data of all apps will be deleted.

But if your phone doesnt have that option or if you does not want all the cache to be removed, you can go and delete for each app. Go to Settings > Apps/Applications > Tap any app to select it > Clear cache. Do this for each app.

By this the error could be fixed. If not, once again check if space is available is your phone memory.
