Be Sure To Get The Right microSD Card For Your Android Device

If you are looking for some extra space for your Android phone or device, then you will be definitely looking forward to buy a microSD card. But how to choose the right microSD card for your device?
There is a wide varieties to choose from. In this article we will help you out to choose the right SD card.

Based  on the range of capacities, you can choose from either SDHC or SDXC.  If you need an extra storage of 2GB to 32 GB, you can get an SDHC SD card. SDXC cards ranges from 32GB to 2TB.
Let us make this little more clear. Usually a photo taken on a 16MP camera takes about 7MB space. So by getting a 32 GB card, about 4500 more photos can be stored.

Next criterion to look upon is speed. We wont want to go for a SD card which takes more time , especially when you are using your camera. If you want it to write data quickly , you need to choose the right speed  class.

There are mainly 3 speed classes - Class 10, UHS-1 Class 1 and UHS 1 Class 3. Ultra High Speed provide two types of connections between phone hardware and card and based on this you can choose from I and II. UHS 2 cards are not supported on most of the mobile devices.

So you could choose SDHC or SDXC cards belonging to any of these speed classes. The minimum speed provided by the cards and the main purposes of some class are listed below:

UHS-1 Class-1 : 10 MB/s; live video and 1080p video

UHS-1 Class 3 : 30 MB/s; live video and upto 4K video files

Class 10: 10MB/s;burst photos and upto 1080p video files

MicroSD card type and the capacity will be shown in the card. But the speed class will not be directly indicated. Instead the logos will be displayed.

The logo with number 10 inside the letter C indicates Class 10 cards.

The logo with number 1 or 3 inside the letter U indicates UHS-1 Class -1 or Class-3 cards.
